About Us

Jeani welcomes you to Greenhouse Tech!
Hi Everyone!
My name is Jeani Lee. I am the proud owner of a hydroponic retail store called Greenhouse Tech located in Colorado Springs,
Colorado. I came to open this store in a very round about way. My whole life I have always loved plants and animals. I
received most of my gardening skills from my Grandpa and Grandma. They were sugar beet farmers in
Minnesota before they retired to California. When I was young we would go out every morning and
play in their garden in the California sunshine. They had so many fruits and vegetables! We would even feed
our left over morning oatmeal to the blue jays.
Then the military moved me to Colorado. I have been here over 20 years now. This began my transformation from outdoor growing to
indoor. I became frustrated when I would plant in June and barely get a crop out in
September. I mean barley because here in Colorado Springs you not only have to watch the
weather with an eagle eye, that includes hail, drought, cold, heat and a very short growing season. There are also critters – deer, raccoons, mice, foxes, birds that want your delicious
edibles. Well after many years of less then great harvests, I relinquished to move my growing
indoors. It has been very rewarding to have a more controlled environment that yields
bountiful harvests. I have even been able to incorporate some animals – I use my fish water
from the pond!
After many years of traveling out of town for indoor garden
supplies, I took up the challenge to open a store this past December. My goal? I wanted it specific to hydroponics with everything in stock – no waiting! And no hassle with friendly customer service.
My products include, Sunleaves, Grodan, Botanicare, House and
Garden, Advance Nutrients, General Hydroponics, Fox Farm, B’Cuzz, Technaflora, Hortilux, Gavita, Future Brite ballasts, Sunshine 4, Black
Gold, Hydroton, Can Filters, Hurricane, Dayton, Seeds of Change and HomeBox.
Most of my store inventory was supplied by BWGS
West. These guys are awesome and a credit to the industry – including Chris, Keith, Alexis and
Aaron. They are so very helpful with all my endless questions. The moving of a semi truck load of inventory and putting of shelves together would not have been
accomplished without Michael, Matt and Pete. Oh and I must include my wonderful web designers
Carmella and Dan. What a great site they have put together for me.
When you walk into the store, you will see a couple of units
displayed that contain peppers, tomatoes, cosmos and pansies. In the seedling stage are
sunflowers and an avocado tree.
Customers can come in and get their free water test.
Currently it is PH and PPM but I do want to expand to a total and complete water check because we
do have a lot of customers that are on well water. I would also like to eventuality provide
ballast repair, garden room set up and classes for learning how to us various tools and cloning.
I hope to see you soon. Happy Gardening!
